RED Electrical - Solar Panels in Collingwood, Chorley, Lancashire - A Case Study
Case Study

Roof facing east
This case study is of a 2.22kWp system of solar panels in Collingwood, Chorley. It is a good example of how solar panels perform on a non-optimal roof orientation, showing that a good yield can still be had.
Overview
The bungalow has a large roof with interlocking concrete tiles, the front elevation of which faces approximately due east.
The pitch of the roof is approximately 30°.
The Roof Equipment
An array of ET Solar 185W monocrystalline solar panels was specified for this installation. They were mounted in portrait format in two rows of six.
The Electrical Equipment
An EverSolar TL2000AS inverter was chosen for this installation. The equipment is pictured below:

Annual Yield
Total annual yield from system = 1596kWh, worth around £720 per year. The difference between summer and winter yields is larger with an east or west facing system than with a south facing system, but the overall annual yield is still impressive.
